Light Garden & Stone Beach at Wuhan Binjiang Tianjie nestled in an open riverside stretch of the Wuchang Binjiang Business District, It is bathed in abundant natural light and embraced by cedar woods. No longer a mere green space, it has evolved into a diversified hub that integrates a full range of functions and services.
We crafted a life vision of relaxation, joy and self-fulfillment for this project, and translated this seemingly abstract theme into tangible functional scenes that engage all five senses.
For the surrounding residents, we designed a sleek and lightweight installation, whose undulating side walls form a rich three-dimensional space. There is a 1.5-meter height difference between the high and low terrain across the site, and the undulating rope net installation connects the entrances at different elevations in a single flow, enhancing the accessibility of the playground. Within the spatial context of the entire paradise, children are no longer just tagging along on tedious mall trips with their mothers, and accompanying kids to play no longer has to mean a trip to the playground alone.
The installation’s surface features feather-patterned perforations and inlaid details, and the rotatable glass beads on the rope net installation are a delightful surprise for children. As the afterglow of the setting sun filters through the beads, it refracts into a spectrum of colorful light.
