This is an interior renovation project for a private library in an old apartment turned art gallery.
The space is narrow, but the light flowing in from the window at the end, had a strong impression on me at first sight.
In designing the interior, I strived to emphasise this light as to fill the entire space.
The highly reflective epoxy floor brings light to the entrance, and gives vertical depth to the space. In addition, the new bench and shelves supported with minimal metal bars, make strong horizontal lines enhancing the perspective converging at the light filled window.
I envision this light filled library will become a space where the visitors can quietly reflect upon their thoughts as well as appreciate works of art.
