ttl-architects, llc were retained to prepare an assessment of existing conditions and restoration recommendations for Liberty Hall in Machiasport, Maine. The 1873 Italianate town hall served its small down east community as the daily social center for over 120 years before the town offices were moved and the building was abandoned. ttl-architects completed an assessment report of the architectural and structural systems; recommendations for repair of these systems; cost estimate; and existing conditions floor plans and exterior elevations. Subsequently two phases of construction to stabilize and restore the building have been completed. Phase 3 design work includes interior rehabilitation including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety and interior finish restoration.
