STATUS
Concept
To begin the design of this project, we have carefully studied the landscape, needs, and resources of the client.
The building is designed on a very small scale but with the unique characteristics of the region taking into account the infrastructural realities.
The form is a result that is both attractive and practical. The flood of light is naturally provided from sunrise to sunset by numerous windows, and cross ventilation is also ensured by the same windows cleverly playing the dual role.
The building offers a curved space, for spatial requirements and climatic reasons, and contains a large reading room connected to an administrative office. Designed to serve as a reading to students in the region, there is a great possibility to turn it into a center for the entire community and a place for adult education.
The program is simple but adaptable.
A house with two rooms is added on the site as the residence of the manager, it is equipped with separate block with a shower and a latrine pit.
Built with locally produced bricks, the structure has a hybrid top with a tin thatched roof for reasons both aesthetic and climate. The thatched roof serves assimilation with his most immediate surroundings.
The voyage from the entrance to the seating room at the end of the curved reading room translates the nature of the structure, a journey of discovery.
