« Time has only one reality, the one of the instant»
Gaston Bachelard
The project is designed as the narrative of a desert landscape where the perception of permanence
disappears, whilst the trace of the present instant is being revealed. The installation is made of sandy
floor punctuated by mirrored stainless steel twigs reflecting the infinity. The visitor is invited to travel through an atmosphere representing the very heart of the instant, stimulating the mind and providing the opportunity to drift into the realm of one’s imagination, which knows no boundaries.
The installation L’espace d’un instant was designed for the tenth edition of the Living Architecture
Festival (Festival d’Architectures Vives de Montpellier). It is composed by a marriage of 38 mirror-polished stainless steel twigs and 37 brushed stainless steel twigs (195 cm high). They are disposed in a 70 cm interval following a rectangular frame of wooden planks and covered by sand.
