We have combined the historic elements in the building with new, long lasting furniture that already had a story to tell, the moment they arrived. We chose to match their own designs in dark fumed oak and brass with classic, curvy Thonet chairs, marble table tops and leather sofas. Everything is custom made and amazingly looks like it has been there forever.
To meet a certain standard of hospitality and the requests our guests may have, we have created a darker, more private room in the basement. The atmosphere is more intimate with no daylight. This is where we serve cocktails, host wine tastings, private dinners, meetings and so on. The interior is dark, cozy and comfortable. The window tables are front row seats to the busy life of Værnedamsvej. It is a prime location to be a part of that street, and we know that our guests want to follow the street scene.
Værnedamsvej must be one of the hippest streets in Copenhagen and a very lively street. Linking together two neighborhoods; Vesterbro and Frederiksberg, and with a traffic chaos that have become a part of the charm. In the past known as “The Butchers’ Street” (due to the large number of butchers on the street) but today people go there to eat breakfast, shop and in the evening, dine and drink wine. The French School are placed in the middle of the street and because of that, and the fact that all the cafés, delis and restaurants have a French atmosphere, the street is also known as “Little Paris”.
