Les Frères Tinos was designed with the desire to make the most of the pleasures and activities offered by the nearby nature and mountains. The building consists of three volumes: two chalets and a central service volume connecting them. A long canopy provides a sheltered path to the entrances. The cedar shingle siding on the exterior and pine plank siding on the interior blend harmoniously with the wooded surroundings.
Since they are completely independent, the two cottages are designed to be rented separately by different families or together by a large group of friends, accommodating up to 16 guests. Although they do not face the same direction, both units offer the same unforgettable experience thanks to their similar interior layout.
The ground floor features mudroom-style entrances for storing sports equipment and sleeping areas. These offer minimalist bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate several people. Upstairs, the living areas are open and bright. The cathedral ceiling provides a great sense of space, and the series of windows frame the view of Mont Orford. Both chalets have access to a shared outdoor terrace with a hot tub on the roof of the central building.
The interior design was conceived by interior design firm Morin Lauzé. In their approach, it was important to consider the similarity of the units, but to give them a distinct identity. From this reflection came the idea of a large colorful volume that curves around the kitchen and living room space. On one side, it is forest green, and on the other, terracotta. These two shades, inspired by the forest, are brought to the forefront by the abundant windows. Detached from all sides, it is the central element of the decor. It encompasses the kitchen cabinets, the built-in living room furniture, the staircase, and the small bathroom.
Covered with pine boards, the walls and ceilings are more discreet to highlight this large volume from the rest of the decor and bring a warm touch that contrasts with the concrete floor. This touch of wood is also found on the ground floor in the bedrooms, hallways, and large dressing room. The overall goal was to create a minimalist yet distinctive interior environment that would remain etched in the memory of its visitors. The Tino brothers welcome mountain sports enthusiasts or anyone who wants to enjoy nature during a stay at the chalet.
