LEED Platinum Certification: Vimercate Energy Park – Building 3
Press release here: ENVIRON Assists Client in Achieving Italy's First LEED Platinum BuildingVimercate Energy Park–Building 3, is a new mixed-use building of office, retail and laboratory space in Milan, Italy. It is the first to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification in any rating system in Italy, and the seventh to receive LEED CS Platinum rating in Europe.ENVIRON worked with Segro, the project owner, reviewing sustainability aspects of the design in order to ensure compliance with LEED requirements. LEED points were awarded for proximity to public transportation, brownfield redevelopment, stormwater management, innovative wastewater technologies, waste use reduction strategies, energy performance and use of recycled and local material, as well as indoor chemical and pollutant source control.
