This chandelier is made to represent a feeling of a continuous
flow through space, as if fluid layers of air, contained in a 10m x 10m box,
are crystallized into beads. The design requires newest design software and
coordination technology, which is the specialty of the design firm noiz architects. The composition of the overall
structure, in its entirety, is difficult to grasp from one vantage point. Instead, viewers are required to move about
to sense the encompassing strata and their “static dynamics” as their bodies
move though an ethereal field which has been frozen in time. Rather than design a sculptural object,
noiz has designed a background
atmosphere with a sensitive feeling of delicate and fluid continuity to the
rest of the world. The design intention is to create a new sensation of
chandelier; a non-volumetric, non-sculptural quality which loosely spreads and
merges into the space, as if it always naturally existed. Strata
Fields is a landmark design of a new generation of chandelier.
