In collaboration with Carbonleo, LemayMichaud has crafted Le Fou Fou, an elegant and vibrant meeting place where culinary exploration blends seamlessly with creativity in a dynamic ambiance that captivates at any time of day. Located on the second floor of the Royalmount complex, with views of the piazza, Le Fou Fou combines kiosks, restaurants, and bars for a distinctive experience where every detail adds character and elegance, establishing itself as a landmark in Montreal's culinary landscape.
Spanning over 30,000 square feet, this one-of-a-kind venue boasts twelve culinary destinations, four lively bars, and an inviting indoor-outdoor setting that can accommodate over 900 guests. The design is anchored in a bold yet refined identity, drawing inspiration from the charm of Provence and French bistros, while blending these timeless influences with modern urban elements. The result is a celebration of European elegance interwoven with Montreal’s distinctive cultural energy.
A warm palette of earthy tones and rich greens evokes the cozy comfort of European cafés, while materials like polished concrete add a contemporary, urban edge. The space is defined by dual atmospheres: a bright, inviting area for daytime gatherings, and a darker, more festive zone designed for evening socializing. Expansive ceilings, lush greenery, and a generous terrace create a sense of openness and connect the interior to the surrounding natural elements.
At the heart of this project is a striking 360-degree mural, adorning the elevator shaft and designed by LemayMichaud’s graphic design team. Inspired by magical realism, the mural features surreal motifs and vibrant foliage, offering an immersive visual experience that evolves with every visit. This artwork not only acts as a focal point but also acts as a bridge between the contrasting ambiances, enhancing the overall sense of discovery within the space.
