In favor of dialogue and a trip to Barcelona, the residents renamed the Yugoslav boulevard Rambla. A place of great dimensions is emerging at the crossroads of major structural axes of the neighborhood.
New buildings will border the pathways. Our project is the cornerstone of this new urban composition. It borders the west side of the Zagreb square. This building is a 50 meters long square. This building is high on four
floors. He is compact and unitary. A free volume cut in a scintillating material, glow in the evening. However, as you approach, you realize that almost cubic volume is initiated by cuts in curves that give it an elegant, sculptural presence. We can recognize great cultural buildings.
A false similitude with the roof profile of the Berlin Philharmonic creates a responsive filiation. Undeniably the building has an established presence The building is unitary, its contours are entered in a flash, it provides a strong
foundation for urban reconstruction. However, each of its facades responds to urban stimuli that surround it. The object is not lonely, the unit effect softens and tempers the presence to things.
On the Zagrab square, the east façade made front. This is the main façade. Open, she invites to cross herself. The input hollow continues, inside the volume, the route instead.
The south facade, a long flexible curve is all open to the park and is extended by an open air theater.
The western facade, in a strict alignment, welcomes technical, deliveries, through a parking for those who work there.
The North-west corner is the entrance of the students, which allows them to go to the late hours when the rest is closed. As to wave from the boulevard to the other cultural facility «Le Triangle», which is close to him. The lobby is designed hollow, inverted curve and a small vertical atrium giving legibility and elegance to this secondary entrance.
The north façade is more sober along the Yugoslavia boulevard, strictly aligned to the contour imposed on it.
The roof is also called fifth facade, dominated by neighboring buildings, is treated sculpturally. It is determined by the intersection of a sphere with the square.
He reveals in its center hospital hollow of a circular garden, bordered by a glass gallery.
The building gives to understand the functions it hosts. The east and south facades are transparent to a depth of 8 meters. The interior features are revealed.
And we see that the auditorium holds a special place in the heart of the project. This is a chest that appears closed. It is covered with a sturdy quilted canvas. Behind the acoustic function, there is the idea of the precious. It is accessed from the top. The end to cantilever follows the shape of the internal step, it extends on the east facade,
an open loggia on the square.
Passing under the loggia, we can discovers the home front as the cantilever of the step.
Then the lobby space extends around the auditorium, behind the facade open curve on the park. It is here that settles the space documentation and farther the coffee/bar.
The space is bright and large, 8 meters high. Coffee can expand on the terrace overlooking a green amphitheater. This outdoor area is protected from sun and rain by a suspended lens at half the height of the glass facade. We imagine here approval there will be to attend the outdoor concerts to learn, to stroll.
In the west corner, the room dedicated to amplified music is on the ground floor. We know that this element of the program, combined with the bar, can significantly contribute to the animation of the equipment, and that should not be discharged into the upper floors.
The cluster of amplified music forms a sequence that develops along the courtyard façade to the unloading dock which is housed in a building of the hollow. Here we find there the functions associated with the
back stage.
Above the bar, upstairs, administration offices shall ensure the proper functioning of all. An eye on the lobby, another on the court ...
In the opposite corner of the building on the east façade, there is the third space open to the public: the great conductor plate.
The building boasts a unique architectural treatment. The facades are covered with large wooden panels divided in half height. The upper part is mobile, it allows to modulate the natural light inside the space. The complete program percussion rooms on the ground floor to the north in a compact, tight formation.
At the southeast corner, there is a glass staircase leading upstairs.
The auditorium opens to the gallery on the first level ..
The interior of the auditorium is subject to further work.
According to Goethe «architecture is petrified music.» For Pierre Schaeffer, music is an architecture that speaks. The sensible approach that guides us is a research towards new sensory immersions.
It offers simultaneous perceptions, music and space to flourish. Where the relationship of the
musical work instead will intensify and refine.
Wood panels that adorn the inner sides and the ceiling is based on an intuition of the architect
and the acoustician. To offer a beautiful musicality to this space, the interior design has been fine acoustic study. The geometry of the panels is based on a harmonic progression of diamond-based pyramids. This figure is available in several models multiplied like a fractal pattern. The top of each pyramid is moved in space so as to direct a big side like a louver, the scenic space to spectators.
A motorized device of thick pleated curtains is concealed along the ceiling. By successive spans of three meters, the device can change the acoustic characteristics of the room in no time without manipulatives.
The unity of tone of this space, the choice of wood species, choice of seat fabrics and felts pleated curtains, the masterly acoustic patterns make this space a major piece of the Conservatoire.
The architecture displays a presence bit talkative, crystal, milky. The facades are covered with a luminescent polycarbonate, sometimes interspersed with large windows.

On the roof of the auditorium, there is a garden at the height of the foliage of the park.
The building plan is then designed like a cloister whose patio is a circle. Around the circular garden program is organized in two wings. Each houses an autonomous part of the program. On the second floor, a wing houses the theater section in the West. The dance section occupies the wing angle to the north and east.
On the third floor, West wing houses the additional spaces devoted to musical training (Section of amplified music is on the ground floor, and percussion are close to the Auditorium). The North and East wing is reserved to the autonomous program Upper Deck.
In both stories, the distribution of spaces are not designed as corridors.
They are generous spaces where creative activities can spontaneously find places for experimentation and sharing. As such, the garden and the yard which extends the open circular hall on two levels, are spaces that our architectural proposal to offer.
Rather than opening large glass facades on the public space, we have privileged associations halls around more intimate terraces. At the last level, the ten studios teachers have taken the symbolic form of a group in a circle around a small patio meditative.
