RMTA was approached in the fall of 2012 for full scope interior design services for a new corporate headquarters for Layne Christensen, relocating from Mission Woods, Kan. to The Woodlands, Texas. After programming analysis and test fit planning by RMTA, Layne Christensen decided on relocating to One Hughes Landing, a new, Class A office building in the mixed-use development.
Layne Christensen seized the opportunity of a corporate relocation to redefine the look and function of their space within a modest budget. They migrated from a traditional, closed-off space to a more contemporary, professional space. Workstation panels were lowered, large office sidelites were incorporated and an abundance of meeting spaces were designed. Another goal that Layne Christensen had for their space was to attempt LEED certification. The project is currently undergoing the review for LEED certification and is anticipated to receive accreditation some time in 2014. Sustainable elements are incorporated throughout – materials with recycled content, FSC certified wood, designated recycling areas and energy efficient lighting and HVAC. The end result is a sophisticated space, projecting a professional look for the new Layne corporate headquarters.
