The Woodland Residence Halls represents the 30th project in the 30-year collaboration between SBA and Lasell College. Sited and massed to relate to the existing campus buildings, the halls create a clearly defined quadrangle that anchors the northeast corner of the campus. The buildings are close enough to Woodland Road to announce the presence of the college, yet far enough back to exist harmoniously with the surrounding residential neighborhood.
The materials palette, featuring brick, stone, zinc-coated copper, and glass, expands on the architectural aesthetic developed by SBA through its long relationship with the college. The contrast between traditional and contemporary materials provides the project with a unique identity that complements its surroundings.
