The Las Vegas Convention Center Phase Three Renovation reimagines one of the largest and most visited convention destinations in the world as a unified architectural experience defined by light, movement, and connection. More than a modernization effort, the project transforms a campus shaped over decades into a place that feels intuitive, welcoming, and distinctly Las Vegas.

Situated in the heart of the city’s convention district and steps from the iconic Las Vegas Strip, the campus had evolved through eleven separate construction phases, resulting in a collection of buildings that functioned independently rather than as a cohesive whole. While each expansion met the needs of its time, the overall experience had become fragmented, making navigation difficult and diminishing the sense of arrival. Following the completion of the award-winning West Hall expansion in 2021, the Phase Three Renovation presented an opportunity to weave the existing campus into a singular architectural identity.

Spanning 3.2 million square feet, the renovation reimagines nearly every aspect of the visitor journey. A new exterior envelope, expanded concourses, renovated exhibit halls and meeting spaces, and comprehensive infrastructure improvements work together to create an environment that is both highly functional and deeply experiential.

At the heart of the design is the belief that circulation should be more than movement, it should be an experience. A sweeping tapered roofline visually unifies the once-disconnected buildings, while a quarter mile-long curtain wall invites natural light deep into spaces that were previously enclosed and disorienting. What were once transitional corridors become luminous gathering spaces where daylight, openness, and clear sightlines provide moments of orientation, connection, and pause. The journey culminates in a dramatic cantilevered grand lobby, creating a memorable sense of arrival and establishing a new civic front door for one of the world's premier travel destinations.

Beneath its architectural expression lies a carefully orchestrated framework of performance. Expanded circulation paths, new elevators and escalators, upgraded mechanical systems, integrated technology, and enhanced wayfinding seamlessly support the movement of millions of visitors each year while elevating the operational efficiency of the campus. Every intervention was designed not only to improve functionality, but to create an environment that feels effortless for the people who experience it.

Equally remarkable was the project’s execution. Construction unfolded while the convention center remained fully operational, continuing to host some of the world’s largest and most significant tradeshows, including CES, SEMA, and CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Through close collaboration between the owner, architect, contractor, and countless project partners, an immense transformation occurred without interrupting the global conversations, innovations, and connections taking place within its walls.

The Las Vegas Convention Center Phase Three Renovation is ultimately a story of transformation of an experience. It redefines how architecture can unify a complex campus, elevate the public realm, and create spaces that inspire discovery, foster connection, and welcome millions of visitors from around the world with clarity, confidence, and light.
