Design, Planning and Site Management of the Hotel Las Arenas in Valencia (5* GL).
Interior planning and landscape planning and organization of the external areas of the hotel and in the natural environment of Playa de Las Arenas. The result gives a solution to the practical human needs but also emotional requirements as it connects with the innate memory which the people of the Mediterranean have of their landscape.
The landscape architect Roberto Duato who structured the space around the hotel by creating a series of unique gardens based on aesthetic and technical solutions taken from the different historical eras of gardening and landscape design.
In the gardens of the Hotel Las Arenas, Roberto Duato has combined his humanist education - which has enabled him to implement his creativity from his knowledge of the relationship between Man an his environment, and the use of space based on fundamental needs and cultural values - and his landscape training - which has allowed him to amalgamate the very best from each moment in the history of garden and landscape design: Egypt, Babylon, Rome, Arabia, China, the Italian-French garden, English landscaping and romanticism, including the culture of mosaics, Modernism and ever modern urban planning - to structure the space, recreate an idea, inspire thoughts and feelings, and embellish the surroundings and the views, both for those who look upon them and for those who decide to form part of them.
These gardens are unique thanks to their solutions which integrate history and spaces in a seamless transition of all the elements that converge in them - in the interior-exterior, private-public space, garden-walkways, air-water-earth, cement-vegetation, light- shade, heat-cool.
