The site is an unusually beautiful one on the fringes of Abergavenny, close to a listed Victorian former psychiatric hospital and containing Larchfield House, originally its annexe. It is steeply sloping, boasts a quantity of magnificent trees and has views over the town towards the Sugar Loaf and Brecon Beacons. Despite the planning brief which stipulated no more than nine houses on the site, our design providing 51 houses achieved full planning consent. The focus of the development is a central green related to Larchfield house around which the majority of the houses are grouped. The architecture is strictly based on the character of the old town.
