We built a new primary school at Laork village of Chetra Borei district of Kratie province in the Kingdom of Cambodia. It takes six hours by car from Phnom Penh and takes more thirty minutes by motorcycle to go to the village. There are 233 students in the school. The former school building was demolished because it's too old, so the class was being performed in a temple. When I planned a new school building, I thought that it was very important to make a place where people can gather, and to make comfortable indoor environment. I made the form of the classroom a trapezoid and arranged them to one line, so the school building became the form surrounding grounds in a circle. I made the floor and the ceiling of the classroom as dual structure to cut the heat from the sun and to make ventilation better. I wish this design plan would be inherited in this country in future.
