In the last decades, the periurban edges of the Lausanne - Morges metropolitan region have morphed into a landscape of contrasts and transitions. Rich yet complex, it has been targeted for additional attention due to the number of regionally significant projects all vying for the site (new housing, business and commercial developments, biogas plant, highway interchange, sports facilities, events parking, etc ...). The purpose of the study is to provide “Strategies for landscape and ecological preservation and evolution” in the SDNL (northern Lausanne region). Guidelines are established for the full perimeter as well as more precise proposals for the metropolitan Park of la Blécherette taking into account the area’s cultural landscape, the changes in peri-urban farming and the increasing urban needs for landscapes of leisure.
