The brief was to create a new facility to meet the needs of the most vulnerable children in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It houses children who are unable to cope in mainstream primary schools, and are therefore excluded, due to their behavioural, social and emotional difficulties. The students are aged between 4-9 years old. The brief was to co-locate the unit on the Langford Primary School site, which is a Victorian Listed building. The project comprises the Courtyard conversion and extension of the single-storey outbuilding, and the Penthouse conversion in the main school building.
