After 25 years of use, the Lane County Behavioral Health lobby no longer supported the needs of its staff or the community it served. It was confusing, outdated, and lacked essential safety features. 2FORM partnered with Lane County to redesign the lobby into a calm, secure space that welcomes first-time guests and supports staff efficiency. Updates to the reception, community room, and open office areas have created intuitive wayfinding, helping guests easily find and connect with the resources they need. Trauma Informed Design strategies were central to our approach, helping reduce stress and support psychological well-being. The result is a space that reflects the County’s commitment to care, and one that truly works for the people it serves.
