A small infill scheme of 43 houses to the North Somerset village of Langford. The layout has a clear hierarchical pattern of ‘places’ with the Green in the centre and well-defined streets and lanes which are linked to the village by means of footpath connections. The design is carefully related to the A38 and the village, with key houses marking the entries to the scheme with rear gardens screened by a high stone wall and dense planting. The houses are set back from the A38 by the necessity of a drainage swale. The totality creating a fitting edge to the village when viewed from the Mendips to the south.
