The proposal is an iconic architecture that embodies the values of “Automobili Lamborghini” with its uncompromising geometry and sharp clean lines.
By holding an instant, we tried to materialize something that is intangible: velocity. Working with this concept, and being inspired by the futurism masterpieces such as “Velocità d’automobile” by Giacomo Balla, our intention was to synthesize and rework architecturally the dynamism and aggressiveness of the characteristic design of Sant’Agata Bolognese company.
The perfect proportions of Lamborghini’s supercars have been synthesized in a rectangle, and then divided into 2 equal parts, obtaining a triangular shape, the two landmark matrix. This choice was influenced by the desire to call up the key elements of the Lamborghini design through the use of cutting edge surfaces.
Vertical repetition of the single element defines the set. Staticity and dynamism converge together and give life to the monument, creating an image that is iconic and light at the same time. Moreover, the monument is easy to realize in a short time and in an environmentally friendly manner thanks to the use of dry construction technologies and infinitely recyclable material such as steel.
Each landmark is constituted by a single element that repeats in series, ensuring a great visual and emotional impact on the passersby, involving them with the multiplicity of optical effects created by the vertical scansion of the unit-composed system.
At night, each of the 21 modular elements is illuminated internally. The light is reflected on the material illuminating the roundabout. Shapes and lines are enhanced creating a more monumental atmosphere.
The two monuments are in a constant dialogue alternating chromatically with company’s colours to create a visual and spatial continuity, and marking in a decisive manner the entrance to the “Automobili Lamborghini”, an enstablishment with already a strong identity.
