This lodge-inspired lake home reflects Stonewood’s approach to building, where craftsmanship, materiality, and setting come together with intention. Based in Wayzata, Minnesota, we designed this custom retreat to embrace the character of lakeside living while elevating it through thoughtful architectural detail.
Positioned along the water’s edge, the home captures expansive views through large windows that draw in natural light and connect each space to the surrounding landscape. Vaulted ceilings and a rich palette of wood create a sense of warmth and scale, while layered textures add depth and authenticity throughout.
The main living areas are open and welcoming, centered around a great room and a kitchen designed to support both everyday life and gathering. The flow between spaces feels natural and unforced, creating an environment that is both functional and inviting.
Private areas offer a quieter sense of comfort, designed as places to retreat and recharge. Strong indoor-outdoor connections extend the living experience, making the most of the lakefront setting. The result is a home that feels grounded, refined, and deeply connected to its environment.
