Lake Weyba house is a contemporary lakeside home for our incredibly trusting clients in Noosa Heads, Qld.
Home to a family of 5 (3 teenagers and Tom and Sara). The design needed to accommodate the transition of a young family to adulthood and beyond whilst creating contemporary interior planning arrangements, clearly articulated public/ private zones and dissolving the interior/ exterior.
Whilst designed to accommodate a family of five, the combination of a second living zone, bunk room and several outdoor spaces (lakeside and national park side), ensures that the home can comfortably house several families simultaneously. Freedom of movement, airflow and vistas. Connection to the Lake at the front of the site and connection to the national park to the rear.
A relaxed but minimal environment. Large open spaces, voids, volume, vistas and textural interaction. Strong forms and texture achieved with timber batten cladding and stonework seamlessly flowing internally and externally.
Strong connection of internal spaces to fireplace zone (rear), pool zone (middle) and yard zone (front). Timber batten work which ‘shrouds’ the front cantilevered master bed box. This is deliberately offset from the main living and provides a simply executed entry statement.
Lake Weyba House, a Design and Construct arrangement with Jason Connelly from Jaicon Constructions. One of the best projects we (ADG) have been involved with. Clients Tom and Sara are incredibly trusting and allowed us to do our job at all times.
We are delighted with the completed home, and it could not have been delivered for a nicer couple and their family. Thank you Sara and Tom!
