The LP16 house is located on Soi Ladprao 16 in an urban residential area of Bangkok which is amongst low and high-rise residential buildings. The owner built 400 sq.m. house within the family compound and next to her brother house.
The linear two-storey house faces north and south for a maximum use of ventilation. The ground floor contains of living area which the main area of this house, connected with a swimming pool which gives a serenity, yet cools the house. The second floor answered to diverse lifestyles and preferences of owners, 2 bedrooms were connected by a large combined working-space and Buddha area.
The multi-functional outdoor terrace at the north connects the surrounding spaces. In order to create a tranguil ambience and privacy for the private areas on second floor, filters sunlight, protects rain, blocks noise, the horizontal timber louvers over the terrace is provided.
The patterned ventilation wall provides privacy for the garden while also relates with architectural language of grandmother’s house nearby in the same plot to create a harmony between 2 generation houses but modernized.
