This project for a thorough refurbishment and extension of an existing farmers house with barn in the french countryside, combines local materials such as stone with contemporary materials such as the zinc. The characteristics of both materials are well preserved, which makes the simplicity of the project. The zinc extension houses a new kitchen, which is rather closed to the street side and very open towards the fields in the back. The barn has been restaured to it's original structure, and a box with a large sleeping room, has been added in it and forms the only heated space of the barn.
