The project has three different programs: the museum of the house of architecture, housing, and pole shops-offices. The site is strategic, it is in the axis perpendicular to the medina of Tangier. Thus, the orientation of the house of architecture is the first structuring line of the project and frame the view of the medina of Tangier and its bay. The roof of the house of architecture is designed as a public space highlighted by the simplicity of both volumes and the implementation of materials.
The building is not a break in this landscape. On the contrary, thanks to topographic games and accessible roofs, visitors can easily walk around the site. The house of architecture is considered an urban gazebo allowing its visitors to contemplate the exceptional landscape of the city of Tangier. In terms of housing, we worked on an organic architecture avoiding brutal implantation in this site which enjoys an exceptional topography. Thus, the volumetry of housing is nuanced with as much finesse as the landscape in which they stand. The project proposes to inhabit the roofs by penthouses with terraces, gazebos, and hanging gardens.
