01. Context & Challenge
In rapidly developing Vietnamese cities, building on narrow plots under 90m² presents two main challenges: a lack of natural light and minimal space for greenery. LA HYGGE was designed as a practical architectural response, optimizing every square meter to cultivate a peaceful, cozy sanctuary inspired by the Nordic concept of "Hygge".
02. The Living Bio-Skin Façade
The front façade features a dynamic double-skin solution combining vertical white concrete louvers with a delicate stainless steel cable mesh. Lush climbing vines flourish along this structure, transformed by warm spotlights at night.
Beyond aesthetics, this living green screen acts as an urban lung—filtering ambient dust, dampening street noise, blocking direct thermal radiation, and providing an essential privacy buffer for the bedrooms.
03. Daylighting & Minimalist Interiors
Despite the high building density, 100% of functional spaces receive direct natural daylight and cross-ventilation. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors seamlessly bridge room interiors with the exterior greenery.
The interior design follows a strict Minimalist ethos:
• Palette: Clean whites, warm grey plaster, and natural oak wood accents.
• Layout: Custom floating furniture with organic curves maximizes floor area while eliminating harsh geometric edges.
• Bathrooms: Feature large windows overlooking greenery, freestanding bathtubs, and organic mirrors for a spa-like retreat.
04. Rooftop Sanctuary
The top floor features an infinity pool lined with natural green-veined stone. Concrete breeze blocks and wooden pergolas play with light and shadow, creating an idyllic retreat to watch sunsets and admire the city skyline.
