Architecture and scenography are oneAs if it were a new machine, the museum is installed in one of the production wings of the industrial site. Set up above the pit left by an old oven, the museum is a gently sloping promenade around a large wooden stack that houses the collection. The project draws its inspiration from an attic where accumulated treasures sparkle in the half-light ancient roof timber. The architecture is volontarily unpolished to enhance the contrasts : the objecs-ts'fragile nature and the colossal machinery, the preciousness of the crystal and the roughness of natural materials.Constructed out of unrefined Douglas fir, with no apparent constructive detail, the museum is wrapped in a simple layer of polycarbonate. Its visit is a sensitive stroll through time where one rediscovers ancestral ties with earth and fire. Background production noise accompanies the visitor. During the promenade, two suspended diving boards project the visitor into the manufacturing process, allowing him to witness the glass-makers' magical ballet.
