The conversion of an old London Transport maintenance depot into a dramatic
fitness club. The design accentuates existing features such as 'cathedral'
scale windows, exposed brick vaulting and steelwork from industrial machinery.
The retention of these features contrast with the carefully controlled insertion
of two new elements. A crisp, new steel and glass staircase winds its way down
from the ground floor reception to the lowest level of this subterranean club,
where the timber clad studio pod appears to 'float' within a double-height space
containing the swimming pool.
