La Celia is a 147,000 square foot, 123 unit multi-family co-op in East Harlem, providing spacious homes for families while strengthening the neighborhood. The building’s scale is broken up by a series of bays creating a family of towers capped by a modern metal interpretation of a cornice, enabling the building to fit in with the eclectic group of neighboring buildings.
A number of common elements are available to all unit owners including a large public landscaped terrace at the rear of the building, underground parking, a community room, fitness room, laundry room and bike storage facilities with direct access to the street.
The building has many green features including: energy efficient lighting; motion sensors in the public spaces; insulation located outside of the thermal mass of the building along with a continuous air vapor barrier; an energy efficient boiler system; water conserving plumbing fixtures; and a green roof at the common terrace.
