We were eager to create a project that would make the village much more attractive for tourists and, as a result, would give a boost to the development of the infrastructure and tourism in this region in general.
The plot for the designed cottage is located in the heart of the Carpathians, in the village of Krasnyk, Verkhovyna district, Ivano-Frankivsk region. We planted the cottage on the steep relief of the area facing south, thanks to this the cottage offers a view of the village of Krasnyk, which lies in the lowlands, and an incredible panorama of the Carpathian Mountains.
This region is rich in Hutsul culture and color, so when designing we decided to turn to the origins of local architecture, where we borrowed the traditional shape of the roof, which serves as protection from snow in winter and from the scorching sun in summer. The highlight of the roof was a triangular panoramic window, which appeared on the site of a traditional wood-sewn end.
Conciseness remains in the planning. The cottage is divided into two levels. In the first, main level - we have a common kitchen-living room with fireplace and exit to the terrace, a combined bathroom and a large bedroom. Also, thanks to the non-standard solution of the stair unit, we use the space under them to place the technical pantry. The second, attic, level contained a cozy attic bedroom with a panoramic window from which you can watch the starry sky. Also under the roof we have technical rooms with remote ventilation systems.
The project is special for its combination of modern and local traditions. We have created a place where you can enjoy the morning mountain mists on a comfortable terrace with a cup of coffee, lying in bed, enjoy the incredibly clear starry sky, even on frosty winter nights, feel in the heart of the Carpathians, without rejecting the benefits of the city.
The architecture of the house is simple and concise, preserves the proportions of traditional Hutsul houses, while the constructive solutions and materials were chosen as modern, high quality and durable.
