“കോDA” is an eco-friendly boutique resort envisioned as a retreat immersed in the misty mountains of Wayanad. Perched on a high point, the resort is surrounded by an incredible vista of lush valleys, mountains, forests and waterfalls, creating a strong connection between architecture and the natural landscape.
The design is conceived as “Architecture within the Mist”—a contemporary interpretation of a tropical mountain retreat. The architecture responds to the dramatic topography by creating terraced spaces, open decks, viewing platforms and landscaped levels that follow the natural contours of the site rather than dominating them. Large openings and framed views deliberately connect guests with the surrounding landscape.
The name “കോDA” is inspired by the local experience of “Koda” — fog or mist. The mist is not merely a climatic element; it becomes an integral part of the identity and experience of the resort. As the fog moves through the site, the building appears and disappears within the landscape, creating a constantly changing atmosphere.
“കോDA is a retreat that disappears into the mist and opens towards the mountains.” Perched on the peak of Meppadi, കോDA — The Eco-Friendly Boutique Resort celebrates the unique character of Wayanad through mist, mountain, vegetation and water. The architecture remains deliberately connected to its surroundings, framing the incredible vista on one side and the distant waterfall on the other. Here, the fog becomes the architecture, the mountain becomes the backdrop, and the waterfall becomes the destination.
