Expansion of an apartment, adding a new basement section with integrated stairway. The
main concept of the interior is a black "feature wall" about 80cm deep.
The wall serves to collect and unite the internal staircase with all
the other functions; cabinets, closets, kitchen cupboards, a niche with
TV in the living room and even a bed niche in the bedroom. New
windows in full room height follow the vertical lines of the existing
windows. The increased window area gives additional daylight and creates
an open feeling of space in the apartment. Triple folding-doors in the
kitchen offer free access to the terrace in summer. Colour
palette: white walls and white oiled ash, black feature wall, black
kitchen fronts and baths, and a fresh lime-green touch in furniture,
textiles and accessories.
