The KONE Centre in Moline, IL
utilizes the newest entry in Guardian’s SuperNeutral® Series, Guardian SunGuard SNX 62/67. The high performance level of SNX 62/67 is due to the triple silver process, which applies three microscopic layers of silver in the coating. It has their highest light-to-solar-gain (LSG)
ratio ever and delivers 62% visible light transmission and a low 0.27 solar
heat gain coefficient, for an impressive LSG ratio of 2.30. This insulating glass creates opportunities
for natural daylighting while minimizing solar heat gain. The design shapes the footprint of the
nine-story KONE Centre, which provides expansive views of the Mississippi River, with broad exposures to the north and
south. Furthermore, the use of Guardian
products in this mixed-use development project, which combines public, retail,
office, and residential space, saves on energy costs and has earned the KONE
Centre LEED Platinum Accreditation. Photos: Courtesy of Guardian Industries
