Knop Law Primary School is a two form primary school, situated in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, which has been designed to specifically meet the needs of its school community. This ensures that in the future, the new school will be enjoyed to its fullest potential by both the pupils, teaching staff, parents and the wider community.
ADP (then known as GWK Architects) was invited to design a primary school with the qualities that had been expressed in the practice’s role as Client Design Advisor. Working in collaboration with the Local Education Partnership, Aura, the School is part of an initiative to support Newcastle City Council in delivering school buildings and facilities that focus on wider regeneration and community development in Newcastle. This project incorporates flexible teaching spaces, with internal and external class bases, as well as incorporating an extensive green specification.
