This Knightsbridge Estates development includes three separate and independent buildings totalling 355,000 sq ft. (32,500 m2). Two residential blocks and a flagship office & retail building are located opposite Harrods in Knightsbridge at the heart of one of London’s most elite shopping and residential districts.The office building at 70 Brompton Road provides prime office space on six levels with its own distinctive entrance in Lancelot Place, set back from the prime retail frontages at ground and first floor at the corner and along Brompton Road. A dramatic, eight-storey, glass-clad lobby traversed by glass-floored bridges incorporates the elevator and amenity core serving the open, flexible, day-lit office spaces with landmark views in all directions. The Portland stone-clad façades with stainless steel detailing provide a modern interpretation of Knightsbridge’s traditional, heritage buildings in scale, rhythm and setting back of upper floors. Zeidler worked closely with the staff and Planning and Development Sub-committee of the City of Westminster, English Heritage, the Royal Fine Art Commission and the Knightsbridge Association to satisfy the heritage requirements of all bodies in a building of exceptional quality.
