Project for a design office in Tenpaku-ku, Nagoya-shi. Clients required one large workspace and two meeting spaces.
After several meetings, we realized the necessity of dividing the 115m2-floor into three spaces, while considering the loss of the original spatial intent.
Since the site was located at the corner on the second floor of a building with tenants, the same sized windows were already installed in three directions, which gave it the sense of openness toward the outside space. To create a spatially extended atmosphere while keeping the existing openness, a space with consecutive windows was proposed by installing new windows on the interior wall, which are the same size of the existing windows on the exterior walls.
These are windows inside of windows: the scenery expanding beyond the window increases the sense of depth.
