This project consisted in the creation of a 2500 sqft nursery in the ground floor of an existing building in Berlin’s surroundings. The existing structure was originally destined to commercial uses and was therefore a unique open space with only one façade that could be opened towards the exterior, the other ones directly meeting the soil. The plan was thus organized in a way that could allow a maximum of transparency between the different functions. The group rooms, the canteen, most part of the circulation and some services are therefore linked together trough visual interactions. In this way the unity and the space generosity of the original open space is preserved. The inner walls discreetly delimit the different rooms but appear more often as independent elements than they create enclosed spaces.
