Located in the Adelaide foothills, this house curves around a semi circular courtyard, containing the outdoor entertaining area of timber decks and swimming pool, with views over the adjoining nature reserve.Living areas are orientated to the north for winter sun. Concrete floors act as a heat sink. The narrow plan form allows cross ventilation to provide summer cooling. The design encourages the use of outdoor spaces and the opening up of indoor spaces : a passive use of the environment discouraging artifical heating and cooling.
