Inspired by a monolith, the library has been created to reflect a modem interpretation of Islamic architecture and creates a dynamic intellectual atmosphere reflecting the role of Saudi Arabia as a center for Islamic education and culture uniquely.
The new central library is a new building designed for one of the largest university in Saudi Arabia, king Feisal university, situated in the capital of Al-Ahsa .
This building comprises world-class reading and research facilities, including a large stepped reading hall, studding zone classes, large auditorium and kids library zone.
The significant architectural cut of the eastern facade marks the main entrance to the building and provides a view of the plaza . The remaining facades have a modern, sophisticated structure, which filters the strong daylight and reduces the need for cooling. The interplay between light and shadow provided by the facade contributes to creating a cool, light and vibrant atmosphere in the building.
