Cooper Carry was the architect for Kimpton’s first Charlotte hotel, an 18-story, 217-room hotel at the corner of Third and Church streets. The graceful curves of the façade were designed to contrast with the solid character of the adjacent office tower. A sleek, dimensional curtainwall emphasizes the curves through the shadows that play across the hotel’s façade. The luxury hotel includes 10,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space, a restaurant, rooftop bar, fitness center and more. The hotel is part of a larger mixed-use development that incorporates office, retail and parking.
