The light of image. The image of shape. The shape of sound. The sound of light. In the old building´s cellar in the historic center of Trnava, Slovakia met electronic music and digital architecture. KiloWatt music club is one shining display, often exposed, partially integrated into the matter and sometimes hidden. A continuous form of the light wave is made up of hundreds of individual unique Corian elements, each of which hides the LED color display. The light becomes part of the architecture and its mass is absorbed in the projections.
Each of one hundred and thirteen computer-generated shapes (extrudes) are unique. Irregular pyramids grow from the orthogonal vertical grid as the front motion curve defined by the movement in space trims each element. The side walls of the shape are made of opaque white Corian and only front wall is left translucent so the light hidden inside can pass through into the room. Inside every extrude are four LED panels linked horizontally and vertically to create one monumental screen. It is connected to a series of light panels across the club.
Illuminated door, stair handrail and the bar are engraved with the club graphic and logo. Luminescent wall can be controlled from a central panel at the DJ place. The data that can be sent to the display is either generated automatically or can be controlled from a laptop or iPad and is able to play any kind of live or pre-recorded video, and then create a unique atmosphere for any event that takes place in kiloWatt music club.
