On 23rd Street, in Santa Monica, California, most of the homes represent old fashioned and disconnected structures. The site is about 8,800 square feet abutting an alley in the rear. Our commission was to design a 3,000 square feet home with adequate areas for entertainment, and maximum integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. A lap swimming pool in a wide side yard, provides an inviting entrance to the house from the side yard. Large pocket and disappearing glass doors create maximum view and interaction between living area and the usable outdoor deck.
