This project involved transforming a existing 1980s solid brick house with exposed internal brickwork walls, dark timber lined ceiling, dark individual rooms, into a light, bright home with an open planned kitchen, three new bathrooms and separate laundry.
So the approach was to remove a number of internal walls and columns to open up the spaces, line the exposed brickwork walls with plasterboard, lime the ceiling, and replace and enlarge all the windows leading out to the backyard. This included all new floor tiling, a new kitchen, a new fireplace and abundance of new storage areas.
The bathrooms were all dated and required revised layouts, new tiles, new fittings and a sense of warmth and character which was missing in the original house.
The resulting house is a significantly brighter, warmer home with clean lines and materials which make the home a joy to live in.
