Conversion of an apartment in Prenzlauer Berg
The 126 m² apartment in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg still has numerous period furnishings that needed to be preserved. In addition to the old tiled stove, doors and windows, as well as the wall tiles of the old kitchen and the original floor coverings were refurbished.
Some of the old windows were modelled on the originals according to preservation guidelines, without neglecting contemporary thermal insulation. In addition, the heating and electrical installations were renewed and a new bathroom was installed.
The kitchen was relocated to the “Berliner Zimmer” and now forms the new centre of the flat.
