The Karavansara Hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia, consists of three structures: a traditional Khmer raised wooden house, an existing heritage colonial villa, and a new wing.

The Khmer house can be considered a recycled structure. The house, which was slated for demolition and replacement with a new concrete and brick structure, was bought in the countryside, disassembled, shipped to central Siem Reap and reassembled to serve as the bar / restaurant and event space for the hotel.
The colonial villa has been adapted from a single family dwelling into eight rooms for the hotel. This adaptation included adding new infrastructure, wet area and reinforcing the original structure.
