The Kansas City Art Institute has an added “glow” about it, a unique new walkway in the East Gate section of the campus. The walkway was formed by a series of oversized stone pavers that utilize LED technology to display a symphony of color as passersby walk the glowing path. Located on the east side of the campus, near the intersection of Oak and 45th Street, the pavers can be programmed to display any given color or sequence. With eight different program options available, passersby will likely experience a new display each time he or she enters the gateway. While operational throughout the day, the new lighted pavers are particularly noticeable during twilight and evening hours.
