The 60acres project site originally included a new Kaiser hospital, big box retail and small food and boutique shops. Today, it is a 38acre site for the new hospital with expectation of future retail development to the north. Built on a brown field site, the project uses natural stormwater treatment by way of bio-swales extensively as well as bringing the sense of nature to the site with a distinct tree palette and landfroms in the shape of fallen leaves. The site also features a 1 mile jogging path with multiple exercise stations, a contemplative labyrinth, bamboo courtyard and custom design bus stop shelters. The layout of the site and parking lots were also designed for future facility expansion capable of adding without damage to the site other than new building footprints; two medical office buildings, two parking structures as wells as an additional clinical wing and emergency department expansion for the hospital.
