Launched on July 6, Kaama is a concept by Delhi-based restaurateur Sudhir Gouchwal, a restro-bar built on the concept of desire in everything. The ambience talks about the rawness and aura dating back to ancient India, with everything in Copper and shades of black. The interiors have a lot of elements picked from the ancient period which are depicted as calligraphy on the walls with copper strips, the furniture selected is old school which is effectively amalgamated with the modern design of the restaurant. Also the flooring has vintage floral motif hand printed tiles inspired from the ancient paintings with exposed cement arranged in random pattern which binds the whole restaurant keeping it natural.
"Mumbai Monsoon", an eye-catching mega motion art installation in the middle of the restaurant keeps the ceiling alive.
The outdoor patio is designed like the balcony of a house with a lot of green elements and has outdoor furniture. It has semi-circular arches with tidy windows. The flooring elements are picked from the Zen gardens and laid with respect to the furniture layout. All these elements make the patio apt for get-together in the pleasant weather of Mumbai. The Island bar serves "tea-infused cocktails" & liquor to the consumers in the restaurant from the front side and to the Private dining room. The eatery will be exploring Indian cuisine but in a new way and will also be experimenting with gastronomically appetizing dishes.
